WELCOME TO THE CRAWL

BAD ODDS.
GREAT TELEVISION.

Earth is gone. The survivors are the entertainment. Carl and Princess Donut have a dungeon to survive—and an audience that would love to watch them fail.

Dead Air turns that beautifully awful situation into a side-scrolling action RPG: close combat, character-owned magic, clever boss encounters, loot, and choices that decide who makes it out with you.

CARL

No shoes. No dignified way to explain the boxers. Get in close with punches and stomps, then turn a bad situation into an explosive one.

PERSONAL KIT
  • Fists & stomps
  • Demolition tools
  • Earned enchanted gear
“Goddammit, Donut!”

Gear belongs to its character. Carl's optional knee pads stay optional.

GOOD PEOPLE. TERRIBLE PLACE.

Imani is a recruitable sword-support ally. Elle, the Andrews brothers, Yolanda, and the Meadow Lark caregivers can also matter to your route.

Bearded rat-kin Mordecai in a black vest, blue trousers and sandals welcomes Carl and Princess Donut into the tutorial guild
THE TUTORIAL GUILD / ILLUSTRATION FROM THE GAME

MEET MORDECAI.

A retired crawler. A reluctant teacher. The person who understands just how bad your situation is.

His form changes with the floor. In Book One, you meet the bearded Rat Hooligan first; on Floor 2, he's a tall, black-furred Bugaboo with enormous owl-like eyes and impossibly thin limbs.

FLOOR 1RAT HOOLIGAN
Mordecai's Floor 2 Bugaboo sprite: shaggy black fur, no visible neck, long thin limbs and owl-like eyes

In the novel, Mordecai is a non-combatant guide. His playable alchemist kit is this game's alternate take. See the floor forms in the licensed RPG ↗
